The BES Green Team recently hosted an Earth Day challenge. Classrooms completed a checklist of eco-friendly action steps to enter a prize drawing. Congratulations to Ms. Arico's class and Ms. Craven's class. We hope you enjoy your Green Team t-shirts and stainless steel water bottles! A special congrats to Ms. Castellanos' class! They won t-shirts, reusable water bottles, AND a blender bike experience with Kristi Mollner from Maricopa County! We hear those smoothies were delicious! (Next time save us one!)

Barcelona's Green Club, sponsored by Lauren D'Amico and Melody Hodges, has been exploring the world of energy. Students learned about renewable and nonrenewable resources, they explored the amounts of energy various electronic devices use, and they studied conservation measures.

The club had the pleasure of learning from Jessica Hauer, Coordinator of Energy Efficiency and Sustainability for AESD, along with engineers from Need These. The experts shared unique energy-saving contraptions, along with their passion for this important topic.

The Green Club recently hosted a culminating event in which they shared energy info and activities and asked energy-related trivia questions of school mates. Participants won fun prizes donated by SRP School of Energy. We're so proud and impressed with this conscientious team! Way to go, Green Club!
