Distance Learning

The Alhambra Elementary School community was heavily affected by the adverse spike in COVID-19 cases in Arizona. Due to the large number of reported cases represented in the AESD zip codes, coupled with recommendations and guidance from public health organizations, AESD made the decision to begin the year on what the district refers to in their Healthy Traffic Light System as “Red Level 2.” Red Level 2 calls for full-time distance learning for all AESD students to assist in reducing the health-related impacts of COVID-19 in the AESD community.
The Distance Learning Committee worked to ensure the following components of the Distance Learning Plan were effectively developed: Attendance Procedures, Distance Learning Webpages (for both staff and families), Safe Learning Spaces, and Systems for Staff and Families to obtain ongoing Technical Assistance. The work of the Distance Learning Committee prepared an effective implementation plan for full time distance learning.
